Dysart is a beautiful rural mining town situated in the Bowen Basin, and home to approximately 3,000 residents.  Located 320 km north-west of Rockhampton and 240 km south-west of Mackay, the community enjoys a lifestyle second to none.

Town services include a swimming pool, golf course and bowling club with sport high on the list of activities enjoyed by residents.  The Dysart Bulls Rugby League team plays a number of home games every year and is a popular activity for both players and spectators given the side's dominance of the local competition.

Dysart sits within the Isaac Regional Council area, with a town library, civic centre and community centre among the services provided by the council.

Education is a key strength of Dysart with both a primary and secondary school well attended by local students, along with a community learning centre.

A number of coal mines operate near Dysart including BHP Mitsubishi Alliance's Saraji Mine and Vitrinite's Vulcan Mine.  These mines provide significant employment opportunities, and a high percentage of Dysart residents work at these operations.

With a welcoming outlook, this vibrant town attracts residents who want a safe, community-centred lifestyle.
